The Opportunity:

Are you an experienced Facilities/Utilities Manager with a passion for ensuring seamless operations in a dynamic environment?  We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Facilities Manager for ARYZTA's Liverpool Site in NSW, with occasional responsibilities for the regional Head Office at Chullora NSW.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Facilities Manager will play a key role in managing all services and facilities that support the core operations of our ARYZTA Liverpool Site. Your responsibilities will include daily operations and strategic planning with a strong emphasis on Health & Safety, Food Safety and legislative compliance.

Key Accountabilities:

Safety

  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness by ensuring that all plant, equipment, and personnel, both permanent and contracted, comply with the company’s safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
  • Provide specific documentation relevant to activities performed in accordance with ARYZTA’s health and safety policies.
  • Effectively manage suppliers to ensure they are accountable for their safety, their employees or contactors safety as well as for the equipment and services provided.

Facilities and Services

  • Oversee and administer all building maintenance and utility services necessary for supporting the Liverpool facilities 24/7 operations.
  • Coordinate and supervise scheduled work, actively participating in the facilitation of Liverpool’s preventative maintenance program ensuring proper documentation and timely execution.
  • Prioritise and manage issues as they arise, liaise and coordinate with key stakeholders to support planned works and favourable outcomes.
  • Develop comprehensive plans addressing both short and long-term improvement needs for the Liverpool Site.
  • Effective budget management to meet agreed-upon business outcomes.

Resource Management

  • Calculate and compare costs for required goods or services to ensure optimal value for money.
  • Monitor and address facility conditions, enhancing site security, presentation, preparedness and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
  • Proactively review work backlog, allocating appropriate priority to critical activities.
  • Ensure the building and surrounds meets health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with all relevant legislation.
  • Maintain compliance with Building Codes of Australia (BCA) that supports legislative and insurance requirements.

People and Relationships

  • Cultivate and manage effective working relationships and communication with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Coordinate necessary staff and contractors to effectively support scheduled maintenance.
  • Manage communication between engineering and operations to ensure timely resolution on equipment issues.

Procedural

  • Ensure adherence and compliance to all ARYZTA Policies & Procedures including Financial, Quality, GMP, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) policies.
  • Develop and present progress reports, proposals and relevant documentation as required.

About you:

We are looking for a Facilities Manager who is a do-er, has a customer-focused mindset, a commitment to accountability, and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.

The successful candidate will also bring:

  • Trade qualification, mechanical or electrical, and/or tertiary qualification in Engineering.
  • Ideally 5 years+ experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, food production or constructions environment.
  • Prior Facilities management experience will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with compressed air systems, HVAC&R, Boilers and Steam, Plumbing, Fire Systems, and Site Security.
  • Experience in directly coordinating external contractors with safety as a priority.
  • Great communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications - Outlook, Excel & Word.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS maintenance software (MEX).
  • Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills, with the ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining safety and quality standards under tight timeframes.
  • Good financial management skills, including the ability to manage budgets and identify budget risks to the business.
