Post Doctoral Scientist positions - Bone Therapeutics Group

Job No: G75
Location: Darlinghurst, Sydney

Immunology, Cancer, Informatics and Bone research - Bone Therapeutics Group

Osteoporosis & Bone Biology Division

  • 3 years fixed term

The Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Sydney, is one of Australia’s premier medical research institutes. As part of a strategic initiative the Institute is seeking to expand and strengthen the Osteoporosis and Bone Biology Division through recruitment and investment.

The laboratory of Professor Mike Rogers has broad interests in the molecular pharmacology of bone therapeutics and the molecular basis of bone diseases, including cancer-associated bone disease. The projects will focus on identifying and characterising novel interactions between immune, tumour and bone cells, and the development of cutting-edge proteomic techniques to study signalling pathways and mechanisms of drug action in the bone-tumour microenvironment.

We currently have two (2) postdoctoral positions (junior and senior) working within the Bone Therapeutics group, each funded for 3 years in the first instance. The successful postdoctoral candidates must be highly motivated and have a PhD in a relevant field such as immunology or biochemistry. Experience in proteomics, flow cytometry, in vivo imaging or mammalian models of cancer would be an advantage.

Informal enquiries should be directed to Professor Mike Rogers at m.rogers@garvan.org.au.
