The Opportunity:

Working as part of the wider Workday team, the Workday HRIS Consultant will work as the technical Workday subject matter expert (SME) within the People and Culture team to help improve efficiency, review and lead ongoing configuration, system integrations, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Workday HR Business Processes, implementing change where needed. 

Reporting to Director of People and Culture and partnering closely with the IT team, key accountabilities for the role will include:

  • Technical SME on HR modules, including configuration, validation and implementation (currently enhancing HCM Core and Recruiting modules and will progress to Learning and Performance).
  • Perform technical maintenance tasks on HCM module such as creation of work shift patterns, job profiles, compensation grades and supervisory organisations.
  • Manage security configurations in Workday.
  • Act as Garvan’s named support contact (NSC) to raise support cases and follow up for updates with the Workday Customer Centre.
  • Sandbox tenant testing and UAT for new functionalities and regular maintenance upgrades
  • Update HR modules training materials and design decisions document
  • Be the first point of contact for Workday queries and raise JIRAs to appropriate team member
  • Prioritise and keep track of BAU and project issues on JIRA
  • Provide training to People and Culture team and other relevant stakeholders when implementing or updating a new business process
  • Make decisions on business processes and consult with wider People and Culture team as required.
  • Assist customers in the utilisation of Workday
  • Run regular audit reports to ensure data is current, accurate and relevant
  • Keep organisational structures up-to-date including closing old positions

About you: 

You will possess the following:

  • Formal education in HR, Business, IT or related field (highly regarded)
  • 2+ years’ experience as Technical Workday SME in the area of People and Culture/ Human Resources
  • Experience as Technical SME working in the full Workday ecosystem including EIB configuration / security configurations, integrations/ interface creation and management, generation of template HR letters, customer business process configuration and maintenance for all modules and advanced report writing skills.
  • Technical experience with the following Workday modules: HCM, Absence, Recruitment, Performance and Learning
  • High level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
  • Excellent communication skills and effective relationship building
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
  • Creative and solutions orientated
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Able to handle highly confidential information and treat employee data with the highest discretion
