The Gold Coast Primary Health Network (GCPHN) is seeking to appoint a locally based Non-Executive Director (General Practitioner) to their established governing Board.
Please note this is a General Practitioner (GP) appointment only as set out in the Constitution. To be eligible to apply for this role, you need to be working a minimum of one day per week (whether as a full day or in separate sessions) in an open access general practice. The right candidate will possess knowledge of health service delivery in the Gold Coast Region.
The GCPHN Board is responsible for consolidating and enabling long-term success through appropriate and timely strategic thinking, planning and priority setting in line with the organisation’s objectives.
It is a requirement that the board as a whole consists of Directors with appropriate competencies, skills and experience as determined by an agreed upon skills matrix. As such, Directors do not represent their profession or any other body. Rather they are selected based on the Skills Matrix and must act only in the best interests of the company (among their other duties).
In accordance with the Skills Matrix, the Non-Executive Director will contribute to the following capabilities and experience, so that collectively the Board can demonstrate these:

Board meetings are held bi-monthly (or as required) in person on the last Tuesday of each month from 6.30pm - 9.30pm with a reserve meeting on the alternate month. Attendance in person is a requirement and meetings are held at our Robina, Gold Coast office location. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic we have virtual arrangements in place as a contingency, however an applicant with local knowledge of the Gold Coast region is essential and residing in Queensland is preferred.

Board Directors are remunerated in the form of an annual stipend for attendance at Board meetings and subcommittee meetings in accordance with the Board Remuneration Policy.
Primary Care Gold Coast Ltd (PCGC) has also been granted ‘Health Promotion Charity’ status by the ATO which means PCGC, is an organisation which can provide tax-exempt fringe benefits to its employees i.e. reportable Salary Sacrifice capped at $30,000 gross up value per employee, per year and reportable packaged meal entertainment facility leasing expense benefits capped at $5,000 gross up value per employee per year.
