About the role

The Pathways Facilitator will provide a range of capacity building supports to people with a disability across two key areas of genU; Employment Pathways and Independent Lives.

The Employment Pathways branch of genU provides a range of funded employment programs to assist participants on their pathway to employment. This includes individualised employment supports, School Leavers Employment Supports and post placement support. The Pathways Facilitator will oversee a series of activities that can be packaged into ‘employment pathways’ options for people with a disability. The activities may include assessing the pre-employment and employment needs of people with disabilities, assisting with employment related capacity building, preparing them for work, assisting them to achieve employment and supporting them to maintain employment. This may be completed with individuals or within a group.

Independent Lives supports people with a disability and/or mental illness to live independently and to pursue a life based on their own strengths and goals. Independence is supported through capacity building activities, evidence-based assessments, tenancy support and peer support and mentoring. These supports aim to increase a person’s capacity to manage the impact of their disability on their life, improve their well being and increase their participation in the community.

This role is based in Colac.
