Matchworks is contracted by the Australian Government, through the Department of Education, Skills and Employment to deliver employment services to unemployed job seekers to directly assist them in their employment journey. We do this through the provision of advice and support, professional services, relevant training, connections with a range of government initiatives and ongoing support once they have secured employment.
About the Role
Our Workforce Australia program, backed by the Federal Government, are aimed at the provision of a high level of support and assistance to jobseekers and incentives to employers to help forge lasting and sustainable employment options and stronger workplaces. Through our engagement, passion and dedication, our teams provide individuals with the skills, preparation and confidence to succeed through training, mentoring, and tailored support.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Employment Consultant who can provide a high level of customer service and engagement to assist those in the community with various barriers to employment to find suitable work.
Based at our busy Prestons office become part of a motivated, diverse and supportive team, our sites are a hub for jobseekers across the region. This is an exceptionally rewarding position where no two days will be the same. Through your engagement and support of jobseekers with varying barriers and capacities you will be responsible for
- Conducting initial job seeker assessments to determine requirements
- Building relationships to promote engagement and compliance
- Facilitate group and individual activities, on and/or off site, through structured and non-structured engagement sessions
- Working with job seekers to identifying and promote employability skills and job matching
- Linking participants with support services to overcome non-vocational barriers including; GenU Health & Wellbeing Services, MatchWorks activities and programs, community/complimentary services, allied health services, crisis intervention and more
This position is suited to a performance driven individual with highly developed interpersonal and customer service skills and demonstrated professionalism, attention to detail and an ability to engage and influence. Additionally, we seek individuals who have excellent organisational skills and a willingness to contribute to a positive culture across all our workplaces.

This position is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:54am - 5.00pm
