genU is looking for an experienced, forward-thinking support worker to join an innovative team, supporting people to live the life they want. If you are motivated and passionate about making a difference – join genU today!

In this role you will be working as a Residential Support Worker in an Onsite Shared Support Model. You will provide support to a small staffing team and 11 tenants who live independently in their own apartments. You will enable complete autonomy and choice, and control for the tenants, empowering them to live as independently as possible, in their own apartment.

In this modern model of disability support, you will provide pre-planned and “on-call” assistance to ensure residents are comfortable and safe in their own homes. These state-of-the-art apartments are equipped with the newest technology to support and assist tenants and their individual needs.

You will be comfortable working autonomously with up to 11 residents at a time across a variety of shifts. You will join a collaborative and supportive team, who will provide individualised training so you can best support our varied cohort of residents.

Multiple opportunities both casual and part time across day or active night shifts – based in Fairfield

About You

Our ideal Residential Support Worker will showcase strong interpersonal skills and be able to quickly develop rapport with people of varied abilities and diverse backgrounds. You will be able to think on your feet and work autonomously as required.

You will meet the following requirements.

  • Certificate IV in Disability Studies;
  • Current First Aid Certificate with up-to-date CPR;
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain;
  • Current NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate or willingness to obtain;
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain;
  • All applicants for this role must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and meet the requirements of the genU Covid-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccinations during the recruitment process.
