Salary Range of $121,115.24 to $130,075.34 Base (dependent on experience, skills and capabilities) plus 11% Superannuation + Smart Salary Packaging Benefit.

 

The Opportunity: 

As an affiliated Medical Research Institute of UNSW, The George Institute for Global Health is a shared partner in the delivery of the Clinical Research Unit (CRU). We are seeking a Senior Data Manager who will be responsible for implementing high quality data management systems and processes across both organisations.

Our successful candidate will be employed by TGI and seconded to work within the CRU at UNSW for approximately 3 days per week (0.6FTE).  

This role will be required to work regularly between the UNSW Office (Randwick) and TGI’s office (Barangaroo, CBD) with a minimum requirement to be in both these offices at least 1 day per week.
There may be opportunity for limited days to work from home.

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Lead and manage the assessment, selection, validation, implementation and support of systems and tools including electronic data management solutions and new technologies for clinical research, traditional clinical trials, decentralised trials, adaptive trials and platform trials.
  • Develop assessment methods impacting the services on stakeholders of TGI and CRU
  • Mentorship of junior staff whilst collaborating with other members of the Data Management team across both UNSW and TGI
  • Provide high level expert technical advice and support in relation to approaching clinical research data management
  • Lead and contribute to the development of Data Management SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) across both organisations
  • Provide technical mentorship in relation to process aspects of clinical data management to the team, researchers and collaborators
  • Identify current gaps in data management training and develop, review and conduct training to internal and external stakeholders where appropriate
  • Promote awareness and knowledge of high quality compliant and secure data management solutions and practices
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across TGI and UNSW and affiliate organisations improving the planning, development and delivery on data management requirements
  • Other duties as required

 

Our Successful Candidate is: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a health-related field or computer qualifications
  • Approximately 5 years of experience or more in an extensive relevant field (experience in the development of clinical study databases and data management)
  • Extensive experience with a wide range of clinical research electronic data capture platforms including but not limited to evaluation, selection, validation, implementation and support
  • Demonstrated knowledge of International Council for Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GCP) and their application to Good Clinical Data Management
  • High level critical thinking ability with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability as a leader who works effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation skills

Post Graduate Qualifications will be considered advantageous.
