Pro-Rata Salary Range of $128,800 Base to $138,500 Base (dependent on experience, skills and capabilities)

Plus 12% Superannuation and access to Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging with a value of up to $15,900.  (more information provided below). 

 

The Opportunity: 

Health Systems Science is dedicated to advancing research, policy and practice to prevent noncommunicable diseases (NCD’s) and promote health through implementation of science, health systems research, economic evaluation and health policy in Australia and internationally.

 

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and coordinate two major national-level programs in Fiji.  The Health Promoting School Initiative and the Package of Essential Noncommunicable Diseases program.  Both these programs aim to reduce the burden of NCD’s and improve health outcomes through evidence based interventions and policy implementation.

 

In this role, our successful candidate will be required to oversee all aspects of program delivery including planning, operations, stakeholder engagement and policy development.  You will work closely with diverse teams and partners to bridge the gap between knowledge and practice ensuring effective implementation in resource-limited settings.

 

This position requires strong project management experience, the ability to manage multiple priorities and a deep understanding of NCD’s and global health systems

 

 Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Lead and manage two national-level health programs in Fiji focused on reducing noncommunicable diseases (NCD’s);
  • Oversee all aspects of program delivery including planning, operations, stakeholder engagement and policy development
  • Work closely with diverse teams and partners to translate research into practice and improve health outcomes
  • Contribute to global health efforts through implementation science, health systems research and policy work
  • Apply strong project management skills in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment with tight timelines
  • Bring expertise in NCD’s and experience working in resource limited setting

Skills, Knowledge and Experience/ Our Successful Candidate  

  • Qualifications in public health or a science-related discipline and/or considerable work experience in the public health sector or medical research, and post-graduate degree in these related areas.
  • Significant experience (over 10 years) with project or program management particularly overseeing multiple projects
  • Experience supervising team members, and providing guidance to peer-level colleagues
  • Demonstrated a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through their actions and ability to promote a culturally safe environment
  • Organizational experience working in multidisciplinary teams, managing relationships with external partners and engaging senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated skills building functional networks and working relationships with external stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
  • Ability to produce communication and content for various audiences,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well flexibly, i.e. both independently and with a variety of teams
  • A strong commitment to quality and professionalism
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • An ability to think and operate strategically
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours of work for collaboration and contact with global teams based on requirements of the position
  • Ability and willingness to travel overseas

Desirable

  • Experience with report writing and/or submissions
  • Experience in government engagement and liaison
