We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead and manage our Planning and Economic team. As the Manager of Growth and Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic planning, development assessment, and economic  development initiatives.

The Manager of Growth & Development will:
  • Lead and manage the Planning and Economic team, overseeing strategic planning, development assessment, and economic development functions
  • Bring expertise and innovation to the department, fostering creativity and strategic leadership
  • Manage human and financial resources effectively to achieve departmental goals
To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in disciplines such as town planning, sustainable development, economics, or environmental science
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, development assessment, and/or economic development within a complex environment 
  • Strong business acumen, including financial management, budgetary control, and operational planning
  • Demonstrated leadership in change management, fostering continuous improvement, ensuring quality customer service, staff development, and performance management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective consultation with internal and external stakeholders, local organisations, and the community
  • Ability to navigate political, economic, and social challenges and apply this knowledge to policy and strategy
  • Expertise in developing and implementing community consultation strategies.
  • Proficiency in strategy, marketing, communications, community consultation, and media relations
  • Highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage complex tasks and projects within tight deadlines and minimal supervision
  • Valid ‘C’ Class Driver License
