THE POSITION

This position will assist with the development and operation Council’s corporate asset management systems, geographical information systems (GIS) and fleet management systems.

Reporting to the Manager of Asset Services, you will: 

  • Develop and review asset management plans in accordance with the International Infrastructure Asset Management Manual, relevant Australian and international standards and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain asset registers and ensures relevant data is collected and maintained in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
  • Investigate and analyse systems for the enhancement of asset procedures.
  • Prepare estimates for long-term financial planning.
  • Prepare reports for the acquittal of Roads to Recovery grant funding expenditure
  • Develop and maintain a system for collecting field data using global positioning system (GPS) enabled data collectors.
  • Maintain corporate GIS software for Council’s activities.
  • Act as Council’s nominated National Heavy Vehicle Regulator Road Manager.
  • Manage heavy vehicle transport route requests through the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator Road Manager portal.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Specifically, you will have: 

Essential  

  • Knowledge and understanding of asset management principles and practices
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively utilise spatial information systems
  • Demonstrated effective analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to research issues, interpret and analyse information, determine an appropriate course of action, and provide sound advice, options or recommendations
  • A high level of general computer literacy, in particular spreadsheets, databases and Internet
  • Class C driver's licence (Car Licence

Desirable  

  • Demonstrated experience in local government asset management
  • Diploma in civil engineering, asset management, spatial information systems (or other relevant discipline)
