THE POSITION

This position will implement individual and group activities for children aged 5-12 years in OOSH programs and provide care and supervision conducive to their needs and development.

 

Reporting to the Educator Supervisor you will:  

  • Assist the Educator Supervisor to implement and evaluate activity programs in accordance with the requirements of the National Quality Standards (NQS) for Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Assist in the delivery of curriculum based programs utilising the My Time Our Place Framework, documenting events and promoting teaching techniques that stimulate, engage and enhance learning journeys for children.
  • Promote partnerships with families which contribute to a strong, inclusive community within the service, presenting a welcoming environment where the diversity of families and communities, and the aspirations they hold for their children, are respected and promoted as the foundation of the service.
  • Assist with activities in other areas of the Children, Youth and Family Services Section as required, including the delivery of the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) funded Playgroups.
  • Maintain an understanding of obligations as a ‘Mandatory Reporter’, following the Mandatory Reporter Guide (MRG) and lodges reports by telephoning the Child Protection Helpline and creating an eReport through the ChildStory Reporter Website.

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Specifically, you will have:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121)
  • Age of 18 years or older (state licensing requirement)
  • Ability to meet the requirements for a Criminal Record and Police Check and NSW Working with Children Check
  • Current Class C driver's licence (Car Licence)
