THE POSITION
Council is seeking suitably qualified persons to fill the casual Pool Attendant positions for the 2025/2026 swimming season.
It’s an offence for a person convicted of a serious sex offence or a Registrable Person under the Child Protection (Offenders Registration) Act to apply for these roles. Employment screening, Working with Children Checks and National Criminal History Checks apply.
Reporting to the Coordinator of Recreation Facilities, you will:
Perform routine maintenance tasks under the supervision of the Coordinator Recreation Facilities, including servicing of plant, equipment covering pool, removal of rubbish, ground maintenance, cleaning requirements of buildings as required and other infrastructure.
Provide advice and assistance to customers on routine matters and refer enquiries of a complex nature to the Coordinator of Recreation Facilities.
Assist in the coordination of emergency procedures.
Ensure all appropriate actions are taken to implement Council’s Work Health and Safety (WHS) System and relevant WHS legislative requirements within area of responsibility.
Admit customers to the pool ensuring that the public follows the “Rules of Entry”.
Issue and record ticket books sales and collect pool takings under the supervision of the Coordinator of Recreation Facilities.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Specifically, you will have:
Essential
Ability to work weekends as required
Ability to work alone and unsupervised
Kiosk and facilities
Knowledge of stock control, eftpos and cash register operations
Ability to accurately perform monetary transactions
Lifeguard
Experience working at a public or commercial pool
Current Drivers Licence
Learn to Swim Teacher
Austswim/Royal Life certification or equivalent in Learn to swim
Experience at a public or commercial pool as a learn to swim instructor
