About the Role

As a Tradesperson (Welder), you will:

• Construct, repair and fit metal parts and structures
• Maintain, service and repair Council vehicles, plant, buildings and facilities
• Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures using welding, bolting, riveting, brazing, or soldering techniques
• Perform finishing work such as grinding, sanding, cleaning, and painting metal components
• Assist mechanics with servicing and repairs of vehicles and plant equipment
• Undertake general maintenance tasks including basic carpentry, concreting, and drainage
  
  

What You’ll Need

Essential:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding) or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications
• Competence in estimating material quantities and dimensions
• Understanding of basic mechanical principles and ability to perform routine maintenance
• Safe Work NSW WHS General Construction Induction (White Card)
• Class C Driver’s Licence (Car Licence)

Desirable:

• Class HR Driver’s Licence (Heavy Rigid)
• Advanced electric arc welding skills, including MIG welding
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, and concreting skills
