About the Role
As a Tradesperson (Welder), you will:
Construct, repair and fit metal parts and structures
Maintain, service and repair Council vehicles, plant, buildings and facilities
Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
Fabricate and assemble metal structures using welding, bolting, riveting, brazing, or soldering techniques
Perform finishing work such as grinding, sanding, cleaning, and painting metal components
Assist mechanics with servicing and repairs of vehicles and plant equipment
Undertake general maintenance tasks including basic carpentry, concreting, and drainage
What You’ll Need
Essential:
Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding) or equivalent
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications
Competence in estimating material quantities and dimensions
Understanding of basic mechanical principles and ability to perform routine maintenance
Safe Work NSW WHS General Construction Induction (White Card)
Class C Driver’s Licence (Car Licence)
Desirable:
Class HR Driver’s Licence (Heavy Rigid)
Advanced electric arc welding skills, including MIG welding
Basic carpentry, plumbing, and concreting skills
