About the Role
As the Maintenance Team Leader, you will supervise and coordinate Council’s Maintenance Team to inspect, maintain and construct road assets and related infrastructure.
Reporting to the Coordinator Maintenance Works, you will:
Supervise and coordinate road, footpath and asset maintenance works
Allocate work, monitor performance and provide coaching to support service delivery
Build workforce capability through training, mentoring and adherence to Council policies
Oversee and participate in maintenance activities including pavement repairs, jet patching, vegetation control, line marking, signage, concreting and road furniture
Operate plant, vehicles and equipment competently
Analyse work practices and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, safety and asset performance
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Council procedures and site‑specific safety requirements
Implement and monitor Traffic Control Plans, SWMS and risk assessments
Promote a proactive safety culture across all maintenance activities
Calculate quantities, order materials and coordinate plant and equipment
Monitor resource use to support efficient and cost‑effective service delivery
Represent Council professionally when interacting with residents, contractors and stakeholders
Respond to service requests and enquiries courteously and promptly

1 Jetpatcher Operator
2 Skilled Construction Workers
Up to 2 Casual Employees (as required)
Who We’re Looking For
Essential
Current Class C Driver Licence
Demonstrated experience in sealed road, footpath and transport infrastructure maintenance
Working knowledge of best‑practice road maintenance methods (drainage, concrete work, pavement repairs, vegetation control, signage)
Proven ability to lead and mentor operational teams
Practical understanding of plant, tools and equipment, including routine servicing and minor repairs
Strong commitment to WHS compliance, risk management and safe systems of work
SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction (White Card)
Desirable
Certificate III or IV in Civil Construction, Road Construction & Maintenance, Frontline Management or similar
Current Class HR Driver Licence
Traffic Control, Chainsaw Operations and Chemical Use certifications
