We are currently looking for a Financial Controller to join our growing team in Brisbane.
In this position, you will take ownership of the integrity of financial and business reporting as well as the financial control environment in a demanding, yet highly rewarding setting.
You will lead a team of finance professionals to deliver insightful and accurate reporting and maintain compliance with statutory requirements, whilst ensuring that robust controls are in place to enable meaningful business insight and ensure accountability across the business.
The role requires both leadership and a hands-on approach to successfully execute on the scope of the role.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Analysis of key business ratios and metrics
Managing and mentoring direct reports whilst contributing to the building of capabilities across the Business Services team
Preparing all management, board and investor reports/statements within tight reporting deadlines
Preparing group budgets and forecasts, ensuring proper internal control processes
Drive and oversee the refinement of all finance processes and procedures.
Evaluation, selection and implementation of relevant finance, HR and BI systems and tools.
Compliance with relevant accounting practices, managing the annual audits, liaising with external auditors, advisors and consultants.
Submitting relevant grant, incentive and other applications
Engaging with non-finance managers in order to improve information and data flows
Management of all statutory and regulatory compliance requirements including Tax filings.
Oversight of payroll and related tasks
Extensive stakeholder management across the business
Completion of ad hoc projects as required
CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualification
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a broad full function Financial Controller role
Experience in Technology/SaaS industry highly regarded
Experience in high growth businesses highly regarded
Advanced MS Excel/MS Office/BI tool skills
Extensive experience with multi-jurisdictional budgeting, financial reporting and analysis, statutory compliance and cash-flow management
System selection and implementation experience
Solid understanding of accounting standards and consolidation principles
Ability to lead teams across functions and partner with senior stakeholders
Exceptional time management and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
