Senior Full Stack Engineer

Location: Perth

Who are we looking for?

We are currently looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team in Perth.

Work alongside a team of Engineers to implement new product features, plan Engineering prints and deliver production ready solutions.

Position Requirements:

  • At least 4 years’ experience in a software engineering role

  • At least 3 years working within a true agile development process

  • At least 2 years hands-on experience working on a SaaS software product

  • Hands-on experience working on a SaaS software product

  • Experience working with multiple technology within our technology stack:
    ○ Frontend - javascript frameworks (Angular / React)
    ○ Backend - PHP / nodejs / Golang
    ○ Databases - Mysql / ElasticSearch
    ○ Devops - Docker / AWS (specifically RDS Aurora, EC2, ECS, ElastiCache)

  • Able to use git and follow git workflows

  • Familiar with CI/CD build and deployment processes

  • Experience working in a devops culture

  • Highly positive – even in the face of adversity

Your Responsibilities

Strategy and Architecture

  • Maintain knowledge of specific specialisms, provide detailed advice regarding their application and execute specialised tasks.

  • The specialism should relate to multiple elements that make up a full stack development environment.


Systems development

  • Assist in the refinement of multi-disciplinary requirements, and translate those requirements into user experiences, prototypes and products.

  • Collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines to define technology objectives, advise on technology toolset and devise architectural solutions that both achieve strategic business goals and meet operational requirements.

  • Collaborate with team members and colleagues from other disciplines to establish, build and review product requirements as an outcome of GO1 Agile process.

  • Assist and lead the team in delivery kick off, story development, estimation in story points, sprint planning and management of stories through the sprint cycle.

  • Hands-on software engineering - you are passionate about coding 

  • Review code written by others and provide feedback on improvement and compliance 

  • Review requirements and specifications to define test conditions. Design test cases and test scripts under own direction, mapping back to pre-determined criteria, recording and reporting outcomes. Champion and adhere to test driven development and the need to minimise defects reaching production.

  • Adhere to, review and assist in the development of software engineering guidelines and standards


Product development process

  • Participate in showcases - demonstrate how your work achieves the goal

  • Participate in retrospectives - ensure we are always learning and adapting to challenges and change


Skill management

  • Deliver learning activities to a variety of audiences relating to your area of specialism

  • Mentor and take responsibility for the development of Junior Engineers
