Associate Surveyor
Remuneration: Level 4 - annual salary commencing $75,897.64 plus superannuation

Role Overview
The function of this position will be to assist in the survey, plan production and documentation of projects for Council and external customers through the preparation of field survey works, measurements, recording, reporting, analysing and presenting of engineering survey works.
What we are looking for
For this exciting opportunity, we are seeking an experienced surveyor to work as part of our Design Services branch. Reporting to the Manager - Technical Services, you will have tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in surveying, and more importantly, at least 3 years demonstrated experience in civil/road surveying best practice and procedures. With technical skill in the application of established surveying practices and the operation of surveying equipment, you will be able to undertake Cadastral and identification surveys, and have the ability to provide advice on surveying inquiries across Council departments and to external customers.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Tertiary qualifications (Diploma or Certificate) or equivalent experience in surveying
- At least 3 years demonstrated experience in civil/road surveying practice and procedures
- Technical skills to apply established surveying practices and operate survey equipment
- Sound computer operational skills in data collection, down loading, CAD and DCDB
- Oral communication skill to facilitate the provision of technical advice
- Knowledge of Australian Surveying standards, survey requirements and procedures
The following will be highly regarded:
- A working knowledge of local government surveying requirements
- Experience in Civil3D, Civil Site Design and Stringer software
- Experience in trimble equipment (total station and GPS)
- Registration with the Surveyors Board as a Registered Surveyor (Engineering endorsed), or working towards registration
