We currently have an exciting opportunity to work within our Client Services team as a Consumer Liaison Officer on a 12-month full-time parental leave fixed-term contract from early August 2025.

About the role

The role of Consumer Liaison Officer is to provide support to people who are blind or have a vision impairment who require support, counselling, connection to community organisations or additional technical and practical support with vision specific assistive technology.

In addition, this role will act as a community liaison, assist clients to develop independence skills and participate in the Consumer Reference Group.

About you

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working within Social Work and client advocacy as well as working with clients with social work supports. Other selection criteria includes:

  • Knowledge of the disability sector and NDIS.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to establish credibility and gain the confidence of a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of vision specific AT products and services.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse problems, evaluate alternatives, provide solutions and make decisions based on sound judgement.
  • Relevant personal consumer experience is strongly preferred.

Relevant tertiary qualifications, in Social Work or a related discipline (or currently completing) is strongly preferred.

Relevant Police Clearances (covers covered by Guide Dogs SA/NT) will be required.
