Host Home sources and engages Host families who share their home with people with disabilities and older people. An alternative to centre-based or group home respite and living arrangements, people are embraced as part of the Host’s family and community, while providing the right level of skilled support. This service is offered as one-off, short-term or regular and interim stays, or ongoing living arrangements.
Would you like the opportunity to welcome a person with a disability into your home and family?
Could you provide support within your home on a regular basis (4 days a fortnight)?
Do you have lived or professional experience supporting someone with complex support needs?
You will have access to 24/7 support, and training that is relevant to the person’s needs to successfully host someone in your home. You will be part of a broader network of support for this person, and you will be engaged as a Contractor with our continuous support and guidance.
For this arrangement you will need some experience in supporting a person with complex support needs.
Requirements:
- Car Insurance
- Own vehicle
- First Aid and CPR Certificates
- NDIS Disability Workers Screening Clearance / Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Driver's Licence
- Able to provide a smoke free environment
