Disability Care Hosts

Host Home sources and engages Host families who share their home with people with disabilities and older people. An alternative to centre-based or group home respite and living arrangements, people are embraced as part of the Host’s family and community, while providing the right level of skilled support. This service is offered as one-off, short-term or regular and interim stays, or ongoing living arrangements.

Could you provide support within your home on a short or long term basis?

We are seeking outstanding and supportive individuals, couples and families living on the Gold Coast to become hosts. Hosts are engaged as a contractors or volunteers and remunerated for the support they provide. You do not necessarily need experience in disability support, however, if you have relevant experience, this would be highly regarded.

  • Training and mentoring
  • Ongoing 24 / 7 Support
  • Supporting the broader support network to sustain your host role

Requirements:

  • Car Insurance
  • Own vehicle
  • First Aid and CPR Certificates
  • NDIS Disability Workers Screening Clearance / Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Driver's Licence
  • Able to provide a smoke free environment
