System Engineer / Senior System Engineer

As a System Engineer/Senior System Engineer at HKTV, your responsibilities will include revamping the existing infrastructure from a traditional data center to a private cloud system based on container technology. You will also be involved in the daily operation of www.hktvmall.com and play a key role in building a private cloud system that supports the DevOps model in the future.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement system configurations to meet the evolving needs of HKTV, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems, ensuring their stability and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to systems and networks, quickly and efficiently.
• Monitor system performance, conduct regular security audits, and identify potential bottlenecks to maintain optimal system health.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for systems and processes, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
• Implement robust security measures to protect our systems and data from threats, safeguarding our valuable information.
• Develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Develop and maintain system automation scripts to increase efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and free up valuable time for strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, demonstrating a strong theoretical understanding of IT principles.
• Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar IT role, showcasing practical skills and a track record of success.
• Proficiency in system administration, network protocols, and virtualization technologies (e.g., KVM), demonstrating a deep understanding of core IT technologies.
• Knowledge of security protocols and best practices, ensuring a commitment to protecting our systems and data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, allowing you to effectively collaborate with colleagues and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), demonstrating an understanding of modern cloud technologies.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash), enabling you to automate tasks and improve efficiency.

Additional Strengths:

• Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments, demonstrating a deep understanding of these operating systems.
