Wintringham is an award-winning, specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services. We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania. Our Head Office located in North Melbourne, provides the strategic direction and support services for Wintringham’s homelessness, residential aged care, community housing, NDIS, outreach and home care services for people aged 50 and over who have experienced or been vulnerable to homelessness.
Your new role
We are currently seeking an experienced communications self-starter to join our Communications team as a full-time Senior Communications Officer. In this busy and dynamic role, you will build a positive public image of Wintringham using multiple internal and external communication channels e.g. publications, marketing materials (print and online). You'll play a pivotal role in maintaining our brand, engaging with diverse audiences, and driving awareness for the life-changing work our teams do. Your creativity, problem solving ability, eye for detail and design, along with a passion for social justice, will help amplify Wintringham’s voice in this sector.
Your duties and responsibilities will also include:
- Lead the development of compelling content across digital and print platforms, social media, websites, newsletters and promotional materials; ensuring alignment with audience needs, business needs and brand voice.
- Design and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies that enhance brand visibility and support organisational projects and goals.
- Develop and deliver change communications for major organisational projects, ensuring clarity and engagement across stakeholder groups.
- Project manage the production of Wintringham’s Annual Review, from concept to distribution.
- Support the planning and execution of key events, such as the annual art show, in collaboration with the Communications Team.
- Act as brand guardian, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all communications.
- Liaise with media, photographers, suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality communications outcomes.
- Drive the management and development of Wintringham’s photographic and media archive.
- Identify and produce client case studies that showcase Wintringham’s services, impact, and innovation.
- Provide operational guidance and support to Communications Officers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Oversee the organisation’s website, ensuring content is current, accessible, and user-friendly.
We are seeking candidates with the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism or Marketing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Current driver’s license & own reliable vehicle (travel to sites is sometimes required)
- Experience developing content both written and multimedia for various audiences
- Excellent knowledge of Word, InDesign, Campaign Monitor, Canva and moderate knowledge of PhotoShop.
- Independent problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
