Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Finance, the Accounts Payable Team Leader is responsible for leading the accounts payable finance function. This includes:

  • Managing the day-to-day and monthly accounts payable functions, including: team workload, petty cash, invoice approval system, invoice processing, reconciliation of supplier statements, resolving creditor queries and GST.
  • Participating in monthly processing and reporting timetables, including processing of journals and supporting data.
  • Analysing expenditure data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify spending trends or anomalies.
  • Conducting regular reviews of creditor activity and statement reconciliations, to identify cost-saving opportunities, duplicate payments, and optimization strategies for vendor credit terms.
  • Driving a customer-centric shared services culture, establishing and monitoring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely, accurate processing for all internal programs and external partners.

We are looking for candidates with the following

  • Demonstrated experience supervising an accounts payable function or transactional cell within a centralised shared services or high-volume processing environment.
  • Strong experience in a similar direct team leadership or supervisory role. Prior operational experience working within a Not-for-Profit (NFP) environment.
  • Proven capacity to monitor team workloads, manage performance, and enforce clear Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to support diverse internal program managers and external partners.
  • Advanced technical proficiency utilising modern ERP platforms (e.g., Epicor) alongside business intelligence and visualisation software (e.g., Power BI).
  • Strong analytical capability to extract data, evaluate vendor spend structures, identify duplicate patterns, and construct actionable management reports.
