About the role
We are seeking a compassionate Speech Pathologist to join our WA team, on a part-time basis. This roving position will see you support our aged care residents, across the Perth metro region and potentially occasional visits to our rural homes in the Southwest to enhance their safety during mealtimes, communication, social participation, mealtime experience and overall wellbeing. In addition to this the Speech Pathologist will participate in education of staff and support with ongoing continuous improvement in alignment with the aged care quality standards.
Reporting to the Director of Nutrition and Hydration, you will be responsible for providing speech pathology services to residents requiring assessment, diagnosis and management of communication and swallowing disorders, as well as supporting our organisation-wide menu management activities and Nutrition & Hydration program. Your well-honed communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills are easily demonstrated when you work in an inter-disciplinary team, as well when making meaningful connections with residents and their families. You will be part of the Speech Pathology team led by our Senior Speech Pathologist and Dysphagia Lead.
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and membership with Speech Pathology Australia
- Minimum 6 months post-grad experience overseeing dysphagia management caseload- Essential
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- current Influenza vaccination
- full work rights in Australia
