We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Digital Sales Specialist to drive sales growth via the Me&U table ordering platform across multiple venues at Howard Smith Wharves. Guests order their food and beverage via the me&u system, and it’s your job to drive take-up of the system and maximise sales and profitability from those sales, through menu optimisation, a well-planned product promotional program and the development of an industry leading CRM program.

This is a unique role that combines the new digital world, with good old fashion hospitality guest service. Ultimately, your success will be judged by the ongoing guest take up of the me&u system at HSW and the sales the platform delivers to the business.

What we’re looking for:

Your commercial experience and proven ability to develop and implement product-based marketing programs, along with your demonstrated experience operating in the E-commerce world, will be critical for you to succeed in this unique role.  Whilst you will be working as part of the Marketing/Operations team, and also working with various other departments within the business, you will primarily be responsible for your own outcomes.  This is a role for a highly motivated self-starter who can work independently when required or alongside others, but ultimately, will take responsibility to deliver the Product Promotional plan and CRM program on time and effectively.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Your digital sales and marketing experience, along with your proven ability to develop and implement a structured and well thought out product promotional plan, will deliver the results we are looking for.

The responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maximise our me&u menu efficiency and effectiveness via menu engineering/optimisation and ongoing maintenance.
  • Closely collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve sales, units, profit dollars, and growth objectives for me&u.
  • Development and implementation of a structured product promotional plan that delivers variety to our guests and drives sales growth.
  • Establish reporting systems that clearly highlight the success or otherwise of individual product promotional activity and take these learnings into future program plans.
  • Analyse data and make recommendations to optimise the CRM program to drive sales growth, providing support with database communication and eDMs.
  • Co-ordinate with the Supply Chain Manager to drive beverage supplier participation in the promotional plan and deliver volume growth.
  • Co-ordinate with our in-house venue and culinary teams to drive food sales and guest experience.
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan that encourages supplier participation in the Product Promotional Plan Program.
  • Provide ongoing Platform monitoring and maintenance in collaboration with Venue and POS teams.
  • Provide a high level of user support and training to key stakeholders.
  • Work with the Marketing Director and CFO to identify other key digital platforms to drive digital sales and operational efficiencies.

To succeed in this role you will need to be data driven, and a confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

  • Proven experience in driving and managing e-commerce sales 
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize and draw conclusions on large amounts of data
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to work within strict time frames and deadlines
  • Strong organisational, multi-tasking and communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and peers
