We're looking for an exceptional Venue Technician, with expertise in live sound and event production to join our passionate team in delivering an outstanding guest experience in Felons Barrel Hall.
Felons Barrel Hall offers a modern take on a German beer hall, as well as corporate functions, special events and live music.

Key Responsibilities will include:
- Operate and manage audio and video equipment for a broad range of functions and live music events within a venue setting.
- Work with the Marketing & Events department, providing technical production services for site programming and events.
- Install and set up lighting, staging, audio and video systems with expertise and high attention to detail.
- Lead casual production staff and provide support to deliver successful outcomes
- Lead pre-production of events and technical design to ensure seamless execution, including distribution of show notes, floor plans and DOS workorders.
- Maintain equipment inventory and systems, regularly testing and cleaning equipment to show ready levels.
- Develop processes and continually strive to improve and streamline operations
What we’re looking for:
- Experienced (5 + years) in the live music, or theatre/performing arts industry
- Demonstrated competency in operating mid – large audio systems, FOH engineering for touring bands, music festivals.
- Demonstrated competency in operating corporate AV within a venue setting.
- Demonstrated competency in setting up and rigging production and lighting systems
- Highly developed customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work within a large team and maintain a friendly positive nature under pressure.
- A creative problem solver with a passion for self-learning and research within the field of technical production.
- Ability to work a flexible roster including late evenings and weekends.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- A minimum of five years’ experience in sound, lighting and video technical operations and equipment.
- High-level organisational skills, and capacity to work with competing priorities, to deliver outstanding outcomes.
- Experience managing client relationships for a variety of events which include performing arts or conferences.
Desirable
- Experience managing or working in a venue or public space
- Experience in using drafting software such as Vectorworks or AutoCad
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Current Test & Tag licence, and Intermediate Rigging Licence
