We are on the lookout for an experienced AV Technician to take the lead in delivering and high quality entertainment and activations.
Owned and operated by hospitality and tourism specialists Artemus Group, Manly Wharf is Sydney’s iconic waterfront destination, blending heritage charm with a vibrant community spirit. Artemus Group has a proven track record of delivering world-class dining and entertainment experiences while revitalizing beloved, iconic waterfront sites. A hub for both locals and visitors, the Manly Wharf precinct offers exquisite dining, stunning harbour views, and a lively atmosphere that reflects the creative and diverse community of the Northern Beaches. Manly Wharf continues to set the standard on beachside hospitality in Australia.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee all technical production elements of the venue’s entertainment and activations program, ensuring seamless delivery of live events.
- Operate and manage audio, lighting, and video equipment for a range of internal and external live music and entertainment events.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute event setups safely and efficiently, balancing creative and financial objectives.
- Lead and mentor a small team of casual technicians to maintain professional industry standards.
- Interpret touring plans and technical specifications, coordinating all third-party suppliers and services as required.
- Collaborate with the Events team to provide technical solutions for corporate events, activations, and functions.
- Maintain, test, and service venue equipment and systems to ensure reliability and readiness.
- Continuously improve and streamline technical operations and processes to elevate the guest experience
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in live music, theatre, or performing arts technical production.
- Strong capability in live sound engineering (FOH for touring bands, music festivals, etc.).
- Experience in corporate AV and technical production within a venue environment.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Collaborative, calm under pressure, and able to problem-solve on the fly.
- Passionate about innovation, technology, and delivering world-class experiences.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event-based schedules.
