We are seeking an exceptional customer professional who thrives in a busy and varied work environment where no one day is the same. The position involves managing a tenancy portfolio within the community housing sector, ensuring compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act. You will have the opportunity to make a real impact by supporting our diverse customer base, which includes individuals and families in social, affordable, and market housing. 

 

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Tenancy management experience – field-based work
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience (e.g. Certificate IV in Social Housing)
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and understanding of issues affecting socially disadvantaged people.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and external support partners
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate and negotiate successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Currently hold a NSW class C drivers’ license
  • Currently hold or willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check 

Key Responsibilities

Provide outstanding customer service to tenants, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively.
Manage a portfolio of tenants in line with the Residential Tenancies Act, internal policies and the values of the organisation to support tenants to sustain their tenancies.
Effective management of vacancies and turnaround times to ensure that customers are provided with appropriate housing to meet their needs.
Proactive management of tenant portfolio that meets financial goals and targets through the effective co-management of rent assessments, rent arrears and other tenant debt, including end of tenancy debt and collection.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders and support services including making appropriate referrals to support partners to ensure tenancies are sustained and positive outcomes achieved for our customers.
Administrative duties in line with the role include: lease preparation, accurate tenant and property record keeping, booking home visits and community events and preparing risk assessments.
