An exciting INTERNAL opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Animal Attendant to assist in operations at Bathurst Regional Council’s new facility, the Bathurst Animal Rehoming Centre. Applicants will have a minimum of 3 year’s experience in a similar role and be motivated to maintain high standards of animal welfare. Animal Attendants will be required to undertake duties such as cleaning and disinfection of kennels and feeding and care of impounded animals. Experience in handling dangerous or aggressive dogs will be highly regarded.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a high standard of customer service, assisting customers both at the facility and on the telephone in release or adoption of animals. Basic to intermediate computer skills and an ability to use online databases and case management software (supported by on the job training) are essential requirements of the role.
Position Status: Permanent - Part-Time
Hours of work: Part-Time hours are 32 per week over five days. Weekend work on a rostered basis will be required for all positions (overtime or weekend penalty rates will apply).
