Applications are invited for the position of Water Engineer, based at Council's Administration Centre. The successful applicant shall be responsible for to provide assistance to the Manager Water Services to ensure that the Council Water and Sewerage functions are carried out in a cost efficient and operationally effective manner to achieve the Water Services Branch objectives.

Essential Criteria:
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or other related discipline combined with suitable skills
OR
lesser formal qualifications combined with suitable skills and experience deemed acceptable; - SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card ('White Card');
- Class C Drivers Licence;
Skills and Experience
- Good planning, organisational, analytical and decision-making skills;
- Report writing skills;
- Ability to produce high quality work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Knowledge of computer systems including familiarity with Word, Excel and general internet usage;
- Ability to work with Council, government instrumentalities, private sector, professional bodies, community groups, kindred organisations and industrial bodies;
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others;
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills; and
- Awareness of the dynamics of a customer focused organisation.
Desirable Criteria:
Skills & Experience
- Experience in Local Government Engineering operations, including water, sewer, environmental and civil engineering.
Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. The classification for the position will be in a range up to Professional/Specialist Band 3, Level 3, Grade 16 to Grade 17. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $1,826.10 to $2,025.49 gross per week.
