Trainee Accountant

Applications are invited for the position of Trainee Accountant, based at Council's Administration Centre. The successful applicant shall be responsible for assisting Council's Financial Service Branch team in day-to-day financial duties, and shall gain exposure to Local Government finance and have the opportunity to develop technical proficiency in all facets of Local Government accounting.

Essential:

Qualifications

  • Higher School Certificate or equivalent;
  • Class C Drivers Licence;
  • Capacity to enrol in (or continue) and complete a Bachelor of Business (Finance) or equivalent;

 

Skills and Experience

  • The ability to work as an effective and co-operative team members; and
  • Track record as a highly motivated self-starter.

 

Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.  The classification for the position will be in fall under Band 1, Level 1, Trainee Grade 4 to Trainee Grade 10. Salary will be in accordance with age, qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $803.30 to $1,230.40 gross per week.
