Applications are invited for the position of Operations Coordinator, based at Council's Inverell Works Centre. The successful applicant shall assist the Manager Civil Engineering with the coordination of programs and priorities to achieve a high standard for all construction/ maintenance/ horticulture projects carried out by the Civil Engineering Works Branch throughout Inverell Shire. The Operations Coordinator shall be responsible for the day to day direction of plant and human resources to deliver services to the community in the most effective and efficient manner.

Essential Criteria:
Qualifications
- NSW Overseer of Works Certificate or equivalent
OR
Certificate IV in Local Government (Operational Works) or equivalent; - Class C Drivers Licence;
- Implement Traffic Control Plans (IMP) certification;
- SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card (‘White Card’);
Skills and Experience
- Experience in the supervision of a large range of Local Government operations, including but not limited to:
- Construction
- Maintenance
- Concrete Structures
- Horticulture
- Reticulation construction
- Gravel Resheeting
- Concreting; and
- Signs and Linemarking
- Knowledge of Service Delivery, resource allocation and service standards;
- Experience dealing with the public;
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Extensive experience in project management and job control, including financial control of projects;
- Demonstrated experience in applying quality control to projects;
- Extensive experience in preparing detailed estimates for projects;
- Knowledge of computer systems including familiarity with Microsoft Work, Excel and general internet usage;
- Good Planning, organisational, analytical and decision-making skills; and
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperation with others.
Desirable Criteria:

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
Skills and Experience
- Experience delivering large scale civil work projects within time and budget constraints;
- Demonstrated business focus to service delivery; and
- Demonstrated ability to deal with difficult and confrontational staff performance management matters.
Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. The classification for the position will be up to Professional/Specialist Band 3, Level 3, Grade 18 columns 1 to 4. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $2,005.14 to $2,159.22 gross per week.
