Expressions of Interest are invited from qualified welders, fabricators and boilermakers for the position of Welder/Fabricator, based at Council's Inverell Workshop. The successful applicant shall join Council's talented mechanical workshop team and be responsible for maintenance, repair and maintaining the efficient performance of Council's fleet, and undertake light and medium structure fabrication.
Council will be periodically reviewing applications and conducting interviews prior to the closing date.

Essential
Qualifications
- Trade Certificate as Metal Fabricator or Fitter/ Turner with welding experience;
- SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card ('White Card');
Skills and Experience
- Expertise and experience in all aspects of metal fabrication and welding, including:
- MIG welding
- Stick welding
- TIG welding
- Experience in the repair of all types of mechanical components.
Desirable
Qualifications
- NSW Class HR Drivers Licence, progressing to a NSW Class HC Drivers Licence;
- National Licence to perform High Risk Work for Non-Slewing Mobile Crane (CN), Dogging (DG), Forklift (LF) and Elevating Work Platform (WP).
- Work Safely at Heights accreditation.
Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. The classification for the position will be up to Technical/Trades Band 2, Level 2, Grade 10. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $1,349.60 to $1,453.46 gross per week. In addition a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.513 per hour will be paid where applicable.
The ordinary hours of work shall be spread between Monday and Friday inclusive and shall not exceed twelve (12) hours in any one day exclusive of unpaid meal breaks or seventy-six (76) hours per fortnight in terms of Clause 19 of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
