The Trainee Plant Operator shall be responsible to safely operate and maintain plant equipment associated with maintenance and construction works throughout the Shire.

Essential

Qualifications

  • NSW School Certificate/ Record of School Achievement or equivalent.
  • Capacity to enter into and complete a Certificate III Civil Construction in Plant Operation.
  • NSW Provisional P2 Drivers Licence.
  • SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card (‘White Card’), or the ability to obtain one.

Skills and Experience

  • Genuine interest in and/or previous experience in plant operation together with willingness to undertake workplace learning.
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and work effectively in a team environment.

 

 Desirable

 Qualifications

  • Traffic Controller Certificate.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to the local community.

Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.  The classification for the position will be up to Operational Band 1, Level 1, T6.  Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $1,023.00 gross per week.  In addition a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.513 per hour will be paid where applicable.

The ordinary hours of work shall be spread between Monday and Friday inclusive and shall not exceed twelve (12) hours in any one day exclusive of unpaid meal breaks or seventy-six (76) hours per fortnight in terms of clause 19 of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
