About the team

The Water Services team at Council is currently welcoming applications for the role of Water Meter Reader/ Repairer. The Water Services team undertakes a number of crucial functions for Council and the Inverell community that include:

  • Day to day maintenance and repairs of the water meters across our water network in Inverell, Ashford, Yetman and surrounds.
  • Assist our plumbers and water services teams in undertaking day to day maintenance and repairs.
  • Inspections of water infrastructure across the Shire, including at our water treatment, storage and distribution assets.
  • Participation in an on-call roster on a rotating basis, and occasionally carrying out breakdown repairs while on-call or after hours.

Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023

The classification for the position will be up to Operational Band 1, Level 2, Grade 3.  Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $1,054.57 to $1,119.38 gross per week.  In addition, a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.513 per hour will be paid where applicable. In addition, an On-Call Allowance referred to in clause 20C of the Local Government (State) Award 2023 will be paid where applicable.
