Inverell Shire Council is looking for someone like you for the role of Assistant Compliance Officer. The Assistant Compliance Officer has the responsibility of and will assist in, a diverse range of duties within Council’s Environmental Services Division, to ensure the quality of the environment within Inverell Shire. These duties will largely relate to environmental compliance and management functions. The Assistant Compliance Officer will be required to complete formal training as a Council Ranger and Biosecurity functions.

About the role As a key member of the compliance team, the Assistant Compliance Officer provides or supports the delivery of a variety of services to the Inverell Community, including but not limited to:
Remuneration shall range from $1,075.30 to $1,148.19 gross per week, and an on-call allowance of up to $225.00 per week shall be payable when required to be on-call. |

The following selection criteria shall be considered as part of your application:
Essential:
- NSW Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
- NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
- NSW Firearms Licence (Category A and Category B)
- Demonstrated customer service experience.
- Ability to operate computers and other office equipment.
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety Regulations.
- Willingness to undertake training as Council Ranger and Biosecurity functions.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve matters where competing priorities or conflict exists.
- SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card ('White Card').
Desirable:
- Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services)
- Certificate IV in Animal Control & Regulation
- Certificate IV in Local Government Investigation
- Understanding of chemical application procedures relating to pesticides and herbicides.
- Demonstrated ability to handle companion animals with confidence.
- SEINS Parking Certificate.
- Accreditation for microchipping companion animals.
- Completion of any training in relation to environmental compliance and management functions.

Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. The classification for the position is Operational Band 1, Level 3, Grade 4. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $1,075.30 to $1,148.19 gross per week, and an on-call allowance of up to $225.00 per week shall be payable when required to be on-call.
