Inverell Shire Council is looking for a General Assistant to join our Civil Engineering team. The successful applicant shall be a member of the Construction Surveillance Section, and be responsible for the satisfactory execution of general road maintenance and construction duties. This position is an opportunity funded under the Elsa Dixon Aboriginal Employment Grant, Equity Programs, Skills and Workforce. This initiative is designed to support Aboriginal people to access employment and career development pathways into the Local Government sector and in Closing The Gap.

- NSW Class C Drivers Licence;
- SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card (‘White Card’); and
- Must identify as Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander.
Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. The classification for the position will be up to Operational Band 1, Level 2, Grade 2. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $1,029.85 to $1,086.54 gross per week. In addition, a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.513 per hour will be paid where applicable.
