Inverell Shire Council is looking for someone like you for the role of ICT Support Officer. As part of the Information Services team, the ICT Support Officer assists in delivering, administering and maintaining secure, robust, highly available and cost effective Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and services.

About the role As a key member of the Information Services team, Council's ICT Support Officer provides or supports the delivery of a variety of services to Council including but not limited to:

The following selection criteria shall be considered as part of your application:
Essential:
- Relevant tertiary or industry based qualifications acceptable to the Director Corporate and Community Services.
- NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
- Skills and experience relating to identifying solutions, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting, hardware and software applications; including but not limited to network and computer operating systems, personal computer operations, mobile devices and office productivity applications.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the administration and support of Microsoft 365 services, including user and access management, Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, endpoint and device management, and associated security services.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in cybersecurity administration, including identity and access management, endpoint security, patching and vulnerability management, security monitoring, and assisting with cybersecurity incident response.
- Knowledge and practical experience in implementing and maintaining cybersecurity controls, including the Australian Cyber Security Centre Essential Eight.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and the acquisition of new skills, both professionally and personally.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise assigned tasks and determine a course of action to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills including but not limited to assisting staff, especially those with limited ICT skills, in both hardware and software issues.
Desirable:
- Specific industry qualifications in ICT products used by Inverell Shire Council.
- Experience with supporting any of Council’s key ICT products, including:
o Microsoft 365 and associated cloud services
o Microsoft Entra ID
o Vmware
o Citrix
o Windows based servers
o Telstra IP Telephony
o CCTV
o Audio visual, meeting room and livestreaming systems
o HP Arubra switched network
o Enterprise Systems – Technology One, Pathway and Content Manager - Experience supporting and administering websites, intranet platforms and associated content management systems.
- Knowledge of, or experience with, artificial intelligence tools used in a business environment, including Microsoft 365 Copilot and related technologies.

Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2026. The classification for the position is Band 3, Level 2, Grade 13. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $1,679.70 to $1,809.03 gross per week, and a normal work week shall consist of 35 hours per week.
