About the Role

We are looking for an experienced machine operator to contribute to successfully getting our Taranaki Port Log Marshalling operation underway. This will be a small team to start with so the ability to work well with the scaling operation is essential. The key tasks ares the transfer of logs arriving for export at the port from truck to stack and also from stack to ship during the loading of vessels at the port. 

About You

This is a challenging sole operator role and preference will be given to those with proven log handling experience and/or a forestry background.  Others with extensive Material Handling operating skills from a civil construction industry will also be considered.    All candidates must be safety conscious and have a genuine ‘can-do’ attitude.  The successful candidates must be able to work flexible hours and be available and on-call to work weekends as required to support a busy 24/7 operation.

All candidates must have the following in order to be considered:

  • Multi-skilled in log yard operations
  • Must hold Class 2 License with W Endorsement
  • Be a safety focused operator
  • Positive can-do attitude and ability to plan and execute within their own work area
  • Proven heavy machine operating experience
  • Strong work ethic
  • Available to commence work as soon as possible
