About the role

As an internal specialist within the Service Transformation Team, this position enables and positively influence the ongoing transformation of Inner West Council in line with its strategic purpose and objectives.

The Business Improvement Facilitator plays an important role in building a continuous improvement culture across all areas of Council. This position is one of influence and collaboration that requires a strong sense of curiosity and the ability to foster strong relationships with key people across the organisation to deliver a suite of improvements.

This includes playing a key partnering role in driving and facilitating business improvement across the organisation, embedding business excellence principles and practicing change management to create an environment and culture of sustainable business success and ensures delivery of best value and efficient services for our customers and community.

The position is responsible for identifying and undertaking (and enabling others to undertake) organisational projects that improve customer experience, operational efficiency and effectiveness. The position will have a high level of interaction across the organisation and will involve extensive, ongoing collaboration and coordination across all service units. This is very much a ‘hands-on role that requires someone with significant energy and drive, as well as highly developed experience in facilitating productive relationships, delivering results and successfully driving change.

Remuneration

$110,097.00 - $123,308.12 + 11% Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications 

1. Tertiary qualifications in business improvement or quality and/or demonstrated relevant experience

2. Demonstrated experience applying a range of business improvement methodologies (including Six Sigma or equivalent quality management systems) that deliver measurable and sustainable business improvements

3. Highly developed facilitation and presentation skills with demonstrated experience and well developed ability to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales both verbally and in writing

4. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills
