Commencing in January 2025, our program provides professional development training and on-the-job experience pathways, designed to help bridge the gap from academic study to the work environment. As a graduate of the City, you will have many opportunities available to you:

As an Environmental Engineering graduate, you will be empowered to contribute your fresh perspective, technical skills and creativity towards improving safety, quality, sustainability and delivering better services for our community and our environment. You will have the opportunity to advance your skills and expertise in the field, playing a key role in shaping the future of engineering while also forging your own path in your career journey. As an Environmental Engineer within our Planning and Regulation department, you will:

• learn and assist with the oversight of construction projects by the development industry
• observe asset construction techniques and conduct hold point inspections during the construction phase of engineering and environmental assets
• negotiate quality outcomes to identified design issues to ensure high quality assets are delivered to the City
• assist with As constructed applications for the purpose of mapping assets in our GIS system
• assist with reconciling projects in City systems

Who can apply

To be considered for this opportunity you must hold a recognised degree or post graduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years or be completed prior to the commencement of the program in January 2025. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program and be able to work full-time.

The Environmental Engineering graduate position is open to university graduates who have studied Bachelor Environmental Engineering - or similar discipline.
