The role:
This role involves providing of effective leadership, supervision, and clinical support to staff where necessary. The role of the Registered Nurse is to ensure care is provided in accordance with the relevant Professional and Industry Standards, and all legislative requirements.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
- Providing oversight of customer care plans
- Providing training, coaching and guidance to Community Support Professionals and Support Staff/Case Managers as required
- Providing clinical governance and continuous improvement to the business
- Providing training to our team of Community Support Professionals in complex care needs
- Conducting skills assessments of Community Support Professionals performing complex care services as required
- Working with or under the guidance of medical practitioners and Allied Health professionals
- Medication Administration and Complex Clinical Care including palliative care, bowel care/suppositories, catheter care, stoma care, oxygen and more
- Monitoring and communicating on the customer’s wellbeing and reporting on progress of customers
- Ensuring that all services are provided in a caring and respectful way in accordance with Just Better Care’s policy and procedures, legislative requirements and programs
- Demonstrating a commitment to best practice and evidence of continued professional development
What you will need:
- Current Registered Nurse registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Evidence of continued professional development in accordance with the AHPRA standards
- Current Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check
- Current CPR / First Aid Certificate
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Reliable, registered and insured vehicle (comprehensive insurance is preferred)
- Smartphone with internet access
- Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Experience in the supervision of staff members
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles
- Excellent people, problem solving, and conflict management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships
- Proof of Vaccination (where relevant) i.e. COVID-19 vaccination certificate
Desirable:
- Previous experience in the community care or health/aged care sector
- Understanding of DVA Community Nursing guidelines or previous community nursing experience
- Cert IV in Workplace Training & Assessment
