We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our Varsity Lakes office. If you are a well-presented, friendly person who has an eye for detail and a flair for working with numbers please keep reading.

The role exists to support the Finance Supervisor for the day-to-day running of financial operations. This role includes ensuring all accounts payable and receivable are managed effectively, weekly and monthly to achieve best practice financial compliance. 

 

Please note this is an initial six month contract position.

The role:

  • Assist in the preparation of the budget
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements
  • Process and payment of supplier invoices, ensuring data accuracy
  • Verify charges, ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into systems
  • Calculate Payroll Tax Payable and lodge in preparation for payment
  • Prepare monthly figures for Income activity statement in preparation for lodgement
  • Maintain computerised accounting system including financial files and records
  • Maintain the accounts payable and accounts receivable systems
  • Reconcile accounts payable and prepare journal summaries
  • Reconcile accounts receivable
  • Assist with entering sales journal
  • Assist with receipting and third party invoices

What you will need:

  • Current and clear Criminal Record Check
  • Experience in accounts receivable
  • Sound computer skills - MYOB / integrated financial software applications & Microsoft Office
  • Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and speed in data handling
  • Demonstrated attributes of drive and initiative, including an ability to work autonomously.
