About the role
The NDIS Advisor performs an integral role in ensuring individualised services are developed and delivered to our NDIS participants. The role will be responsible for the development, maintenance and review of individualised support plans in consultation with the participant, their family and key health professionals. The NDIS Advisor will support the team to ensure the provision of quality operational services while maintaining efficiency, cost effectiveness and meeting procedural requirements and NDIS compliance standards
Duties & Responsibilities Include
- Providing administrative support to the NDIS team including Service Agreements, care plans, documentation and compliance.
- Assist with the intake of new SIL participants, sourcing new SIL/SDA housing, completing and submitting all SIL ROC, overseeing all SIL documentation
- Ensure all billing is correctly set for each individual SIL home
- Liaise with all members of a participant’s team to ensure a smooth transition into a SIL
- Maintain strict compliance with NDIS approvals
- Assists with billing issues with NDIS participants when required
- Understands participants service needs or preferences ensuring all relevant information is accessible for team members and service providers
- Ensure the team provide appropriate information to the participants regarding the service agreement, including the customer handbook
- Ensures the team develop strategies which will address the identified needs of the customer in consultation with their representative/s where appropriate in accordance with funding guidelines
- Provide financial case management services to customers and representatives when required
- Ensure support plans are monitored and reviewed on a regular and ongoing basis and in response to changes in the customer needs
- Ensure services are delivered are in line with the person centred and consumer directed principles
- Ensure the team assist customers to access other alternative services where the services are no longer meeting their needs
- Liaise with relevant community-based agencies and service providers to ensure an integrated and cohesive approach to service delivery
- Provide advocacy when necessary on behalf of participants
- Monitor customers budgets in accordance with program guidelines
- Represent Just Better Care at external forums and meetings as required
- Ensure all policies, procedures and processes are administered in accordance with Just Better Care’s Business Operating System
- Develop effective, collaborative relationships and networks with all participants and external stakeholders.
About You
- Ability to work flexibly to respond to changing customers’ needs
- Ability to coordinate services according to relevant program guides
- Able to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Able to develop and maintain working relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Possess highly developed communication skills both written and verbal
- Confident in use of the Microsoft suite of programs (excel, work and powerpoint)
What you will need
- Qualification in Community Services, Human Services, Nursing or equivalent (desirable)
- Current NDIS workers screening clearance (Yellow Card)
- Sound knowledge and experience in a similar NDIS or SIL/SDA housing role.
- Previous experience supervising, supporting and training staff (desirable)
- A current open class drivers licence.
