About Us
Across Australia, Just Better Care provides in-home aged care and disability support services, supporting people to live independently. For over 15 years, we’ve helped older Australians and people living with disability remain in their own homes and stay connected to their community.
Our friendly, compassionate and experienced team makes this possible — and we’re growing.
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-focused and proactive Finance Officer to join our Townsville team in a full-time, office-based role (Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm). In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our financial operations running smoothly — from payroll and reporting to supporting long-term financial planning. Working closely with the General Manager / Franchise Owner, you’ll contribute to both the day-to-day financial processes and the broader financial health of the business.
No two days are the same — you’ll enjoy a role where you can take ownership, stay organised, and make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor financial systems to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Manage the general ledger, including reconciliations
- Prepare monthly management accounts (profit & loss, balance sheet)
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable and receivable
- Support financial management of Support at Home Packages
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Complete statutory reporting requirements
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and margin analysis
- Support audits as required
- Ensure compliance with Just Better Care policies and procedures
Who You Are
You’re not just experienced — you’re organised, reliable, and thrive in a structured but busy environment.
- Are you a numbers‑focused problem solver with great attention to detail?
- Can you manage deadlines and priorities with confidence?
- Do you enjoy making sure everything balances — and nothing slips through the cracks?
- Are you someone who takes ownership and works well independently, while still being part of a team?
- Do you stay calm and focused during busy reporting periods?
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance role
- Payroll experience
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Advantageous (but not essential):
- Experience in NDIS or Aged Care billing
- Knowledge of the SCHADS Award
What You’ll Need
- Current Criminal Record Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
- Proof of working rights in Australia
Why Join Us?
- Work in a stable Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm role
- Join a supportive, friendly and professional team
- Be part of a growing organisation making a real difference in the community
- Enjoy a role where your work has direct impact and visibility
