The role:
We are currently seeking high skilled Disability Support Workers to work 20-30 hours in assorted SIL houses within the Brisbane/ Ipswich area (Collingwood Park and Middle Park). The role will require applicants to be willing to work a 24/7 rotating roster which may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekend shifts. You will be assisting complex clients with daily living and lifestyle requirements by providing person-centred care and support.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
- Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication prompting
- Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
- Social support/transportation: social activities, shopping/groceries, travelling to medical appointments
- Supporting customers in the use of aids and personal equipment including: standing or walking frames, wheelchairs, manual or electric hoists, sliding sheets or moving boards, hearing aids and other physical aids
- Supporting customers with complex and/or challenging needs
- Monitoring the well-being of customers and reporting on their progress
- Participating in staff meetings and attending training as required
What you will need:
- Formal Qualifications in Disability or Community Services (Preferred)
- Experience working in Disability/Community Services (2 year minimum)
- Current CPR / First Aid Certificate
- Current and satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission Worker Orientation Module certificate and Blue Card (Or willing to obtain).
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination.
- Reliable, Registered and Insured vehicle (comprehensive insurance is preferred)
- Smartphone with internet access (required)
- The right to work in Australia with the ability to provide 100 points of I.D.
