About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Newly Graduated or Experienced Occupational Therapist to join our warm and supportive team at Juniper Korumup, located in Albany. Our home offers a beautifully designed, light-filled environment with modern amenities, private ensuites, and abundant communal spaces, promoting resident well-being and active lifestyles through various programs and community connections.

In this rewarding role, you will be a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, resident-focused Occupational Therapy services. You will work closely with our residents and their families to conduct assessments, identify individual capabilities and preferences, and set realistic goals that help maintain or restore independence.

We offer permanent part-time or full-time positions, with up to 75 hours per fortnight available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct resident assessments, determine individual capabilities/preferences, and set achievable goals.
  • Support residents in achieving these goals while maximizing their functional capacity for daily activities.
  • Prescribe aids and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with residents, their families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Supervise and support therapy assistants.
  • Address the concerns and requests of residents' families and other caregivers.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Identify areas for improvement and use a continuous quality approach to problem-solving.

Key Requirements:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist (essential).
  • Previous experience as an OT in aged care (desirable).
  • Proven ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate quality care.
  • Empathy for elderly clients and the ability to work effectively with other health professionals and service providers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Current Australian driver’s licence.
