We are currently seeking a Community Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive Home and Community Care team in Mandurah. To be considered for this role you must currently live within either Mandurah or immediate surrounds. You must also have a current driver’s licence and a reliable car.

Our Juniper Home and Community Care team provides community based care programs that assist our aged customers to continue to live independently in their own homes. Renowned for our commitment to the delivery of person centred care and best practice in relation to the provision of quality care, you will be working in a supportive environment that encourages initiative and leadership.

Whilst working in this rewarding role you will provide support and assistance to enable clients to maximise their independence in their own homes within the community, incorporating the wellness approach. Care and services are to be responsive, timely and empowering, enabling the client to lead a continued safe and independent value added life within their own home.

This position requires the delivery of personal care to our community clients.  To be considered for this role you must have at least 6-12 months experience in the delivery of personal care (such as showering, dressing, toileting) to the aged.  Applicants who demonstrate prior experience in the community setting will be viewed favourably.  

This position is being offered on a permanent part-time basis.  To be considered for this role you must be available on Monday and Friday each week between the hours of 7am-4pm.  The ideal candidate will also be available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week from 7am-12 noon minimum. There is no evening or weekend work required.  Contracted hours and days of work will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Personal care, including showering, dressing, continence care
  • Assist Client with administration of correct medication 
  • Assisting high care Clients with activities of daily living
  • Assisting Clients with domestic duties, meal preparation and other household tasks to ensure safe and hygienic living conditions in their own homes
  • Social Support, including transport to shops or appointments
  • Adherence to Client Care Plan 

The successful candidate must meet these selection criteria:

  • Past experience working in Aged care is essential and this must include the delivery of personal care
  • Previous community experience - desirable
  • Certificate III Aged Care - desirable
  • Dementia Care experience - desirable
  • Current First Aid - desirable
  • A reliable vehicle and current driver’s licence – both essential
  • Received at least two covid-19 vaccinations and have had, or willing to obtain, influenza vaccination annually
