We are currently looking for a suitably experienced Aged Care Cook to work at Juniper Hayloft aged care facility, located in Martin.
The purpose of this role is to prepare and cook high quality, nutritious meals to meet our residents’ special dietary requirements. You will be responsible for supervising a team of catering staff, making sure that the quality of meals is maintained at a high standard.

This is a part time position. The successful applicant would be available to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 7:00am - 13:30pm
There is the ability to also cover planned and unplanned leave within Juniper*

Key Responsibilities of this role:.
- Preparing and cooking high quality, nourishing meals for our residents
- Monitoring all practices within the catering centre to ensure safe food handling and infection control procedures are being adhered to
- Ensure all areas of the kitchen are cleaned to the highest standards
- Stock control management, replenishing and ordering stock as required
- Compliancy with Juniper’s Occupational, Safety and Health requirements
- Provide supervision and direction to kitchenhands
The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
- Trade certification or experience in a commercial cooking environment (essential)
- Basic knowledge of dietary nutrition for the aged is preferred
- Ability to manage bulk ordering, purchasing, and stock control of food
- Competent in using Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal and interpersonal skills
- Empathy for elderly residents
